These are some of the pictures of birds that we were able to help, or rescue from certain death, and some of them for which we have found a good home. Unfortunately not all stories have a happy ending. We helped more birds but were not able to take a picture of them.

This one I call Mr. Owl. He was brought to us, in a very bad state. When we asked what had happened, the answer was that they did not know. They gave him/her food everyday. Unfortunately the food was parakeet seed and a barn owl does like to eat meat. He is still with us and in very good health. If you take on an animal, you should check what the animal requires before you do it.
Here we have Andre the crow. The person who owned the bird moved and could not take Andre with her. Of course we ended up with Andre who is a very good talker.
These are some of the parrots that we saved. We now have a total of six. In summer they walk around with them on the street in small boxes in order to sell them. You have to realize that this is in the hot sun and that the parrots do not have any water or food. Needless to say that we could not stand this. They are now in a big aviary in our garden.
One morning at about 6 AM in the morning I was in the kitchen prepairing food for the animals. I heard a big bang against the window behind me and there was the lovebird. It flew into the kitchen and could not get out. So we took it in.
These were some birds given to us because they were in a big cage with other birds and they did not get along with each other.
