First we would like to introduce ourselves. My name is Koenraad Debedts and the name of my partner is Frank Zuchristian. We came here six years ago and were amazed and upset the way animals get treated here.
We decided to do the best that we could do, to help these animals.
Let us explain how this all happened. We were living in Europe when we did our first rescue. We were invited to a birthday party and they had a little dog, who was treated very badly. When we could no longer stand this we decided to leave and take that little dog with us. Although the owner objected we refused to give in, and took the dog, at that time 2,5 years old, with us. We are not a company or organization, we are just two individuals that happen to love animals. We do not charge people that want to take an animal in that we have rescued, although we ask if in their heart they can find a little place for a donation, we would appreciate it so we can save more from the streets or of being abandoned.

We recently had the pleasure to work with a lady,from the US,who rescued three street dogs from the Punta Cana area and brought them to US. Right now we are working with two other people wanting to do the same.
Koenraad, sadly, passed away April 18, 2009 he is sorely missed but the work will continue. Koenraad, along with other local people and organisations, such as Sosua Kids , tried to help the young people of Sosua, please help if you can Sosua Kids
